Greenhouse Church is primarily staff led and visioned. The church is governed externally by its Board of Directors and receives counsel and direction from its local Board of Advisors.
Pastor Jared serves as senior pastor. Jared and his wife Mandy were married in 1999 and take great joy in their five lovely children. Jared enjoys hanging out with his family, preaching, teaching, songwriting, playing rock and roll, hearing others play rock and roll, snowboarding, learning, reading, remodeling homes, and, on occasion, all at the same time.
In the Fall of 2002 after earning a BA in Education from KU, Jared joined a team to plant Life Mission Church in Olathe, Kansas. Jared served nine years as a pastor in the areas of worship, youth, and college ministries. Jared’s personal mission is to reveal, demonstrate, and communicate the Kingdom of God, through leading and serving. He was ordained in the Fall of 2010 by Resurrection Life Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was sent to plant Greenhouse Church.
Sean handles most of the church’s organization, communication, and administrative duties. Sean married Jillian in 2007 and they love living in Lawrence with their four kids. Sean became a follower of Jesus in 2005 under Pastor Jared’s leadership and quickly realized that he wanted to spend his life studying and teaching the Scriptures. Sean is a Colorado native with a degree in philosophy who enjoys reading, playing chess, and just about anything related to sports. He is known for his impeccable taste in music and his remarkable ability to write about himself in the third person.
Kalah serves as the worship leader for Greenhouse Church. In 2007, Kalah graduated from Reign Ministries’ Kairos Discipleship School. Her and her husband David love living in Lawrence with their two kids. She is a faithful and passionate follower of Jesus, and has been a part of the team since planting the church!
Brad graduated Olathe South High School in 2009 and married his wife, Alyssa, that same summer. They have three children, each of them flawless, and never anything but perfectly obedient and quiet. He is responsible for the organization, upkeep, and improvement of church facilities, as well as helping to oversee Young Nation and disciple our teenagers and young adults.
As an incurable geek, he loves going to the movies, having lengthy theological discussions, the Hebrew language, Tolkien, playing bass loudly, fast and heavy music, and learning everything about anything. He also loves C.S. Lewis so much he somehow ensured his first child was born on his birthday. We’re still not sure how he swung that one.
Jenelle Prather oversees our school-aged ministry. She loves teaching and leading as well as building relationships with kids and their caregivers. Jenelle graduated summa cum laude from Barclay College in 2003 earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Christian education with a minor in Bible. She has served in kids’ ministry for over 15 years and is passionate about fostering a community of trust, belonging, understanding, safety, and joy for kids. Providing opportunities for kids to experience God and teaching them foundational truths are high priorities for our team.
Jenelle married her high school sweetheart, Nick, in 1999. They have 6 amazing kids. They enjoy watching and playing a multitude of sports together, hosting and attending rowdy parties, laughing at Dad’s jokes and stories, and late-night walks on the beach (wait, we are native Kansans, but it sure sounds nice).
