Greenhouse Church is a budding movement of those seeking to live by faith, hope, and love. Our community seeks to run on things like generosity, patience, peace, and truth. We are learning to put the teachings of Jesus into practice.
Our mission is to grow disciples who come together often and dig deep, in order to plant a culture that serves our city and reproduces disciples.
We teach that the Old and New Testaments are the inspired revelation of God’s truth. They are the final say for faith, truth, and life. We teach they were and are currently breathed by God through the Holy Spirit.
We teach there is one God, the God of the Bible, existing in 3 persons. We teach that the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are 3 distinctive persons who are wrapped up in one primary nature. We teach that all 3 are eternal, present everywhere, invincible, infinitely wise, infinitely holy, infinitely loving, and infinitely knowing.
We teach that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God. He has existed from eternity and stepped into human history as the Messiah about 2000 years ago. He was born from a virgin, lived sinlessly, died as a substitute for all those who believe in Him, and physically came back to life. We believe He is now exalted, seated in heaven as believers’ high-priest and intercessor.
We teach that God chose the Church to represent Him on the earth. We teach the local church is God's prized bride, and it is made up of all those who have been born-again by Jesus. We teach that the church is to meet regularly and relationally. We teach that we are to live as missionaries every day because the church is the way in which the gospel is spread to the culture. We teach the church is to be a living, breathing organism, breathing in through corporate worship, study, and meetings, and exhaling through service and evangelism – love.
We teach that salvation is a free gift from God, which is only granted through the blood of Jesus, which forgives sin and is posted to our account through personal faith in Jesus Christ.
We teach that Jesus will return to this Earth to judge all men and women. We believe that the wicked will be eternally separated from God in hell, and the righteous will inherit eternal life, because Jesus paid for their sin with His blood.
We teach that apart from God, all humans are depraved and unable to fix their sin problem.
We teach that all spiritual gifts are to be functioning in God’s church today, just as they were in the early church.
We follow Jesus by being fully immersed in water through Baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We also obey Jesus by taking communion regularly. These two ordinances help us to remember that we live brand new lives through Jesus’ atoning death on the cross
